This website is created in conjunction with local communities in order to discover more knowledge about our ecotourism and ecoproject program in Bukit Lawang and its surrounding area. This website also provide a booking service for jungle trekking, village tour, ecotour, rafting and many more activities in Bukit Lawang, North Sumatra, Indonesia. We share 15% of our company's profit directly to support our ecoporject program and our environment mission.
WHAT & WHERE IS BUKIT LAWANG
Bukit Lawang is the name of a village located in Bohorok subdistrict, the west part of North Sumatra province and on the edge of Gunung Leuser National Park, Indonesia. Bukit Lawang is a popular tourist destination located on the edge of the Gunung Leuser National Park, a UNESCO World Heritage Site home to numerous bird, plan and mammal species, most famously the Sumatran orangutan (Pongo Abelii), which can be seen in the jungle of Bukit Lawang everyday. Bohorok is only a small part of the 1.094.962 hectare of Gunung Leuser National Park. Its rainforest has become famous over the world which consists various fauna and flora, most of the endangered and rare species on earth such as Sumatran rhinoceros (Dicerorhinus Sumatrensis), Sumatran orangutan (Pongo Abelii), Sumatran tiger (Panthera Tigris Sumatrae) are living in this rainforest.
