Planet Of The Apes.

Chimpanzee and bonobo are 99.6 percent genetically similar to each other, but have different appearances and vastly unique social behaviors. Chimpanzee and bonobo share 98.5 - 98.7 percent of their DNA with human, 97 percent hold by orangutan, and 96.5 percent hold by gorilla.

Amorphophallus Titanum.

Amorphophallus Titanum is a group of plants from genus Amorphophallus which is also a member of the family Araceae. The most well known type of giant carrion flower inside tropical rainforests of Sumatra. Amorphophallus derived from Ancient Greek language "Amorphous" which means "without a clearly defined shape or form" and "phallos" which means penis.

Sumatran Elephant.

Do you know? elephants can't sweat. To keep their skin cool and elastic they love to take a mud bath. Additionally, the dried mud protects them from insect bites and sunburn. If elephants can't take a mud bath they'll bath in water and afterwards they'll cover themselves with dust, this acts like dried mud.

Indonesian Bird Diversity.

There are 9,956 species of birds in the world, 1,594 of them found in Indonesia. This number puts Indonesia ranked 5th as the owner of the Mega Bird Diversity in the world. However, the diversity of birds in Indonesia is also facing the threat. Wild Bird Conservation Society of Indonesia recorded 122 species are endangered and entered the red list of IUCN (International Union for Conservation of Nature). This condition puts Indonesia as a country with most endangered birds as well.

Sumatran Tiger.

A male Sumatran tiger has huge territory that range between 100 - 200 km2. I can understand why we often heard the news, tigers entered the villages, actually it's humans who entered the tiger territories and causes habitat loss to the tigers.

Sunda Clouded Leopard.

Studies have found significant differences between the Sunda clouded leopard in Sumatra (Neofelis Diardi Diardi) and Borneo (Neofelis Diardi Borneensis) with clouded leopard that living in mainland China, Neofelis Nebulosa. In addition to genetic differences, Sunda clouded leopards that found in Sumatra and Kalimantan are smaller and having darker color patterns compared to their ancestors in mainland China.

Tualang Tree.

Tualang tree is one of the tallest trees in the world, and also one of the most prominent trees in the tropical rainforests of Southeast Asia. Its grey color, whitish bark of the tree, large bole, and huge crown makes it stand out amongst the other trees. Tualang tree can grow up to 70 meters tall.

Wagler's Pit Viper.

In hunting of prey, Wagler's pit vipers are always in a stationary position for the long term to find the right moment to ambush the preys with their haemotoxic venom.
